After the successful opening night of last year the second year of the prestigious Slovak-British Ball is going to take place in London. Financial profits will go to support the emerging Slovak artists, who have an ambition to become successful in Great Britain.
The second year of the Slovak-British Ball is organised again by the Slovak Centre in London in conjunction with the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. This exclusive event is going to be organised under the auspices of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Dušan Čaplovič, who will attend personally.
Personal patronage over the ball has been taken over by Slovak ambassador in the United Kingdom – Juraj Zervan, British ambassador in the Slovak Republic – Michael Roberts, chairwoman of the Office of the Slovaks living abroad – Vilma Prívarová and an influential European politician – Ján Figeľ.
The Slovak Centre in London is organizing this event to be the most high profile event to help creating an atmosphere of understanding and cooperation between the Slovak community and the British public.
The Slovak-British Ball 2008 will take place on 22nd February in the exclusive premises of the London Café Royal. Financial profits will be devoted to the recently established foundation SUSCIPIO, which is prepared to support the emerging Slovak artists in their endeavours to become successful in the British market. Art is one of the best forms of promotion of its own country abroad.
The ball will be hosted by Jana Hospodárová and Peter Justin Topolský. The programme will include Slovak stars as Sisa Sklovska, G-strinx and much more. The rich cultural programme will culminate in a raffle with attractive prices.
Attending the Slovak-British Ball is a good opportunity for meeting acquaintances and friends but also for creating new Slovak-British business partnerships and making new friends, which undoubtedly contributes to permanent deepening of relations between the two nations.
