Throughout the year the Agency will focus on the implementation of supporting
marketing activities, particularly within the targeted communications with
domestic entities in the area of tourism. SACR plans to implement several B2B
activities for the purpose of the promotion of sales of specific tourism
products in the home country and abroad.
One of the events, in which SACR will support internal tourism, is the 13th
year of the international veteran rally called „500 km across SLOVAKIA“,
which will take place 10 June to 14 June. The objective of this popular, and
also the largest, event of this kind in Europe is, besides for the presentation
of historical vehicles, the promotion of selected activities of internal
tourism. This year, the organisers expect the participation of 130 veteran cars
and motorbikes from 17 countries of the world. Most of the participating cars
of world brands were manufactured at beginning of the 20th century.
At the event, SACR will promote Slovak tourism products and tourist regions. In
the stands situated at the individual race stages, the racers and spectators
will be provided with information about Slovakia and its tourist attractions.
Moreover, various promotional materials have been prepared.
This year, historical cars will introduce themselves in the regions of Orava,
Liptov and Kysuce. The start of the race is planned for 11 June from Zuberec.
During the first Liptov stage, the racers will stop in the recreational centre
of Bešeňová and in the open-air museum of Brestová. In the second
Kysuce/Dolný Kubín stage, the veteran racers will visit the Castle of Orava
and the Orava Museum of P.O. Hviezdoslav in Dolný Kubín. Cultural performances
are planned in Terchová, Stará Bystrica and Námestovo. The final third Orava
stage includes a stop in the recreational centre of Oravice and on the Orava
Dam, as well as the cultural programme in Trstená, Hruštín and Podbiel.
The race will be livened up by the competition for the most beautiful attraction
on the veteran rally route. The participating veteran car and motorbike drivers
will have the possibility to evaluate Slovak attractions, which they will get to
know at the different stages of the race. After the counting of points at the
finish, the winner will receive the SACR award named „Most Beautiful Tourist
Attraction on the Route of the 500 km Across Slovakia Race“.
Besides for the veteran car race, the purpose of the event is also for getting
to know all the cultural, historical and scenic beauties of Orava, Liptov and
Kysuce. The „500 km Across Slovakia“ race is organised every year in another
region in order to allow the racers and spectators to get to know all the
different regions of Slovakia. The event is organised under the aegis of the
President of SR Ivan Gašparovič as well as the chairman of the self-governing
region of Žilina, Juraj Blanár.
