SK Magazine at ITF Slovakiatour International Fair

SK Magazine presented itself at the ITF Slovakiatour 2009 International Fair in Bratislava.


The 15th year of this travel fair took place in the Incheba Expo Bratislava Exposition and Congress Centre from 22nd to 25th January.
At the same time, Danubius Gastro, the international gastronomy exhibition celebrated its 16th year, a specialised Hunting and Leisure exhibition took place and the 9th year of equipment and technologies, and packaging materials and technologies exhibitions were also held there. The 1st year of a specialised Wellness and Fitness exhibition was a novelty.

The combination of events has been attracting both professionals and tens of thousands of members of the public alike every year. They come to choose from the widest range of travel agents and tour operators’ offers and to watch appealing presentations of more and less familiar regions and countries.

ITF SLOVAKIATOUR 2009 and SK Magazine

During the four days of this year’s travel fair the newest trends in travelling all around the world were presented to the professional and general public. Overall, 889 exhibitors attended from 35 different countries. Visitors had an opportunity to smell South-African wine, taste delicacies from Greece or Spain or try Thai massage.

Other countries including the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Croatia, Turkey, Tunisia, Italy, France, Bulgaria, Romania, Cyprus, Egypt, Slovenia, Great Britain, Switzerland, Russia, Ukraine, Portugal, Finland, United Arab Emirates, Serbia, Sweden, India, Indonesia, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Japan and others presented themselves at the fair and reflecting the increased interest in Slovak tourists by travel offices from various countries.

SK Magazine also successfully presented its activities, and introduced its concept of connecting Slovakia with Great Britain, to professional and general public visitors.

The venue’s area of almost 37,000 m² hosted 65,124 visitors. The fair traditionally involves the presentation of Slovak and Czech regions, regional associations, cities, towns and other non-profit organisations as another way of spending holidays or enjoying recreation time in Slovakia. The participation of cities and towns from all Slovak regions at ITF SLOVAKIATOUR creates conditions for increasing their share of local and active tourism.

The growing significance of the fair is also reflected in the increased interest of Czech districts, regions and towns, which were plentifully represented at the fair. This year’s up-to-date and varied presentation of Czech regions proved their prominent interest in Slovak tourists.

Development of ITF SLOVAKIATOUR

Since 1999, the international fair ITF SLOVAKIATOUR, which is the largest and the most important travel fair in Slovakia, has been a member of the International Tourism Trade Fairs Association – ITTFA. In recent years, the ITF SLOVAKIATOUR fair has been experiencing an increase in the exhibition area, number of exhibitors and visitors. The scope of the fair, the adequate exhibition area, the quality agenda for professionals and varied accompanying events for the public place the fair among the top European fairs.

This year’s exhibition was also attended by the President of the Slovak Republic, doc. JUDr. Ivan Gašparovič.
